Yesterday was one of the longest working days of my life.
Every year, for 3 years now, OIA, the Office of Israel Affiars at the BWC has a reception for dignitaries and ambassadors and stuff at Naw Ruz in Jerusalem. Every year I have had the honour of being able to attend in multiple capacities. The first year, I was one of the Northern GArdens Department representatives - I drove a truckload of plants there and back and helped with the set up, and then during the reception I was a host. Last year, I was an NGD person and a performer, with Dillisk, the Irish group.... THis year the same. But this year is a bit different since it was the day before my last day at work. It symbolises my last big work project.
For the past few months we've been preparing for this. My part in general has been pretty small. Nomi in Haifa Gardens came up with the design, which includes lots of lights, stone ballustrades, a fountain and of course, a jillion plants. My job was to help get the plants ready, flowering and there....
